ASSA ABLOY AMERICAS · MACOS & WINDOWS

One command. Connected to Claude.

Run this in Terminal on Mac or PowerShell on Windows. Choose Claude Desktop, Claude CLI or both, then paste your MCP token at the hidden prompt.

npx --yes https://assistant.frontend-assaabloy.com/setup.tgz

Requires Node.js 20 or newer, which includes npx. If npx is not found, install Node.js and reopen your terminal. Claude must already be installed.

  1. Paste and run the command.
  2. Choose 1 for Desktop, 2 for CLI, or 3 for both.
  3. Paste the token supplied by your administrator. It stays hidden.
  4. After the connection test succeeds, quit and reopen Desktop or start a new Claude CLI session.

Using Claude Code CLI?

Run the command above in your normal terminal, outside Claude. Choose 2 — CLI, paste your MCP token, then start a new session with claude. Run /mcp and look for assa-assistant-prod. Setup registers the server at user scope; no separate claude mcp add command is needed.

This is an MCP connection. Claude's /plugin commands install plugins, and skills provide instructions. You do not need to install either for this connection.

Check it in Claude

Ask: “Use assa-assistant-prod to search_products for 1431 with brand sargent.” Allow the tool call if prompted.

How setup works

Setup backs up your settings, installs a small Node bridge in your user folder, and tests a product search. There is no Windows installer or separate desktop app. Keep Node.js installed: Claude uses it to run the bridge.

Your token is stored in a local file restricted to your user account, not an encrypted vault. The token is never part of the command or sent to this download page.

Repair or remove

Run the command again to replace your token or repair the connection. To remove it and restore prior settings, append --remove. Restart Claude afterwards.

Version 0.2.0. Tested on macOS; Windows runtime testing remains pending. Company policies may restrict Node/npm execution. Ask IT if blocked.
